After a TERRIBLE experience with another local day care, we transferred our toddler to A Safer Start. What a difference! I can't say enough about the enthusiasm and genuine care that the teachers and staff have for our child. They take extra time and care to tell us about every detail of his day and never seem too busy to talk. His individual needs and personality are highly respected without a second thought, which is something we really struggled with at his previous placement. The teachers give constant praise, encouragement, and one-on-one attention to the kids (and to the parents!). Within two days of his enrollment, even the teachers who are not in his classroom could tell us what his favorite games, songs, and stories were, and could identify his strengths and interests. Our son went from separation anxiety, regression, and begging not to go to his old day care, to laughing, smiling, and talking about his new teachers and all the fun things he does every day at Safer Start. We're thrilled with the changes and can't say enough about these wonderful people and the warm, cozy environment of the Cranston school.

This is a an absolutely wonderful, caring place for my two children. The teachers are warm and loving and the education they receive is better than the school systems in the area! I am so happy and impressed! Keep up the great work everyone!

Web cameras, an interesting idea, so all the literature says. But the daycare is not up to par. The house where this is located is too small for the number of kids. I found the director uncooperative. You could do better elsewhere.

The technology they advertise so much is hard to use. The staff does not try very hard to work with people. They seem more interested in making sure that you drop off the check in time than in addressing your concerns. They talk a lot about their program and not very much about the needs of their individual kids. I was not impressed.

After interviewing 4 home daycares, and 3 other "dayschools", I can safely say A Safer Start is the best choice I could have made. This facility has it's act together! Someone ALWAYS answers the phone! The help desk staff is prompt to respond to requests for technical help (they have a web-cam access to see my child at any time during the day). The Director has always made herself available for questions, and has been very accommodating in walking us through the daycare process. She was able to get our son in the door quickly (next day), and she is very accessible to the staff. They have allowed us to be flexible in our arrangement to ease our son into the full time daycare, which has soothed our anxiety as well as our son's separation anxiety. The staff seems to work very well with each other, and with the children. The teachers that work with my son are OUTSTANDING!! They are warm, caring, inviting, and very patient!! We are thrilled with the variety of daily activities as well as the relaxing atmosphere, and the very high level of care my son receives there! This is not just a place that somone watches your child. The teachers interact closely with each child, and respect each child's individual needs. I can't say enough good things about the positive experiences my family has had with A Safer Start, and I would highly recommend this facility.
